FAQs

Where does Native Books ship to?

We ship to all fifty "United States" as well as "U.S. territories" and APO/FPO/DPO via the US Postal Service.

Does Native Books ship internationally?

Unfortunately, at this time, we are not taking international orders. We are looking forward to shipping to select locations soon. If you feel very strongly about having a book shipped internationally try email us at info@nativebookshawaii.org and we may be able to work something out!

Do you buy rare, used, or out-of-print books?

Yes, we can buy your used books that are from and about Hawaiʻi and the Pacific. Please email Lise at lise@nativebookshawaii.org regarding selling your books.

If you would like to sell a large amount of books (imagine one bankers box, can your books fit comfortable inside one bankers box? if not, then you might have a large amount of books), just know that we love pictures of the books you would like to sell (on the shelf, off the shelf, spines) and we really love spreadsheets.

We also accept book donations of books that are specifically from and about Hawaiʻi and the Pacific.

Do you sell rare, used, or out-of-print books?

Yes! Please email Lise at lise@nativebookshawaii.org if there are specific books or subject matter you are looking to acquire. Many books pass Lise's desk so there is a great likelihood we could have it, and if not we can let you know when we come across it!

We feature Off the Wall, a rare, used, and out-of-print book sale in the Arts & Letters Gallery twice or thrice a year. Follow us on instagram or sign up for our Nūleka (below) to learn about when the next Off the Wall book sale is.

What if my book is out of stock?

Books are a fascinating industry, with titles coming in and out of print monthly. If your favorite book is unavailable online, please reach out to our team and we can notify you if and when these titles are back in stock. If you would like to help underwrite your favorite book, please contact maile@nameahawaii.com

Can I do a purchase order for my school or library?

Yes! Please visit our 1164 Nu'uanu location so that you can have an opportunity to view our entire collection.

Our DOE vendor number is 106263.

Purchase orders that require 5 or more copies of a title may take longer to process, as we order upon request.

We offer discounts to educational purchasers when we can, particularly for larger orders and classroom sets. If you can’t make it down please call our store at (808) 548-5554 to inquire about our stock before you turn in your PO. We can give you estimates on how much everything may cost (especially if youʻre requiring shipping).

Please email all info and inquires to lise@nativebookshawaii.org
